Funeral costs and payment options
To discuss funeral costs, get in touch with Rosetown Funerals. Due to the many variables, it is not possible to give exact ideas on funeral costs, but we can provide an estimate based on your locality and your requirements.
Typically, a funeral requires 16 to 20 hours of a director’s time and overheads such as premises, vehicles, staff salaries and a 24-hour service, which our fee covers. As part of our role, we coordinate with other suppliers involved with the funeral such as flowers, newspaper notices, transportation, cemetery or cremation fees, gratuities and catering, meaning your invoice combines multiple services.
If you have financial concerns regarding the funeral, we can provide a funeral service to suit both your needs and your financial circumstances. Simply let us know and we can guide you through the process, possibly suggesting agencies you can approach to help with funeral costs.

WINZ GRANTS.
The Funeral Grant from Work and Income may help cover the cost of a funeral for those who meet certain criteria. It can assist with expenses such as the cost of a casket, burial or cremation fees, and other related expenses. Eligibility is based on the applicant's financial situation, and the grant amount varies depending on the specific costs and circumstances.

ACC GRANTS
If a person passes away due to an injury covered by ACC, their family or dependents may be eligible for financial support. ACC provides a lump sum payment, known as the Death Benefit, which helps cover funeral costs and provides ongoing support for dependents. Eligibility is determined based on the circumstances of the death and whether the injury is work-related or occurred under ACC’s coverage.
PRE-PAYMENT PLANS.
Putting money away in advance is the best way to lessen the financial burden on the family when it comes time for the funeral. Much like Kiwisaver, a funeral pre-payment plan saves small amounts into a fund on a regular basis. That means you’ll barely even notice, even though it makes a big difference in the long term. Get in touch with our team today to discuss pre-payment options.
BUDGETING.
No matter your budgeting requirements, we are able to guide you through the process of arranging a funeral that fits your needs. Whether you would like the funeral to be traditional, contemporary, or one of our set service options, we are dedicated to providing a service that is meaningful and personalised.
SETTLING THE FUNERAL ACCOUNT.
In line with normal commercial practice, Rosetown Funerals requires you to provide full payment by a particular due date. Most funeral firms send their account directly to the family, with a copy to the solicitor if required. On most occasions, the person making the arrangements with the funeral director remains responsible for paying the invoice.
When a funeral is being arranged, Rosetown Funerals will incur a significant outlay on your behalf. This outlay covers expenses to all external service providers involved in the funeral service. Because of this, prompt payment of the account by the due date is very much appreciated. Rosetown Funerals will also require a deposit when taking instructions from you. Any outstanding accounts will be charged interest, and a service fee may also be required if the account is unpaid by the due date. When the settlement of an estate is delayed, families are encouraged to pay the account by this date, and recover the expenses from the estate.
