Our Values
WE BELIEVE ...
A funeral is about celebrating the life of the person first.
A funeral should reflect their values, culture, beliefs, and final wishes. Adding a personal touch allows us to honour and remember their life appropriately.
The choice is yours, not the funeral directors.
Funerals can be small and intimate gatherings, larger public ceremonies, or something in between. They can take place in a church, at home, or even in a park or reserve - the choice is yours, and it should reflect your wishes.
You should be able to talk to us.
We want you to feel comfortable discussing your needs and preferences with us. Our funeral home is designed to be warm and welcoming, almost like stepping into a friend’s home.
Your family should be involved as much as they want to.
Families are encouraged to be as involved as they wish. We support families in creating an appropriate farewell for their loved one, offering guidance while respecting their desires. If something feels right and aids in the grieving process, we will help you make it happen.
We will plan a funeral that suits your budget.
Funerals should never exceed your established budget. Your loved one would not want that, and neither do we. We can guide you through a process that is dignified, personalised, and aligned with your financial considerations.
Your trusted and caring team

I take great pride in the growing opportunity to offer personalised services that serve as a heartfelt tribute to the life being honored. At the core of everything we do are the values of respect, compassion, and professionalism.
Throughout my many years of service as a St. John’s Ambulance Officer, I have had the privilege of assisting individuals in distressing situations, providing relief from pain and anxiety. Jan Howie
Funeral Administrator
Since becoming part of the team at Rosetown Funeral Home, I have had the privilege of supporting families through some of the most challenging and emotional times of their lives. It’s an honor to help create meaningful memorial services that celebrate the unique lives of their loved ones, and I truly value the personal stories that are shared with me.
In my previous career in law enforcement, I worked closely with individuals during high-stress moments, which helped me develop skills that are now invaluable in my role here. Originally from the Waikato, I’m thrilled to be back in the region with my husband, Ian, while our son lives in England. Outside of work, I enjoy spending quality time with family and friends and stay active as a member of the local Lions Club.
Supporting the community is an important part of what we do.
The community is part of our fabric at Rosetown Funerals. We want to support the community that has supported us over the years, so our team actively participates in community initiatives and events, and we help out wherever we can.
