Rosetown Tunerals

OUR COMMUNITY INVOLVEMENT

The community is a big part of who Rosetown Funeral Home are. Our team are involved in many community initiatives and events, and help wherever we can.

Our commitment to supporting Waipā communities is a priority outside of our day-today operations. We continuously seek opportunities to support and engage with great community initiatives and encourage those with an event, organisation or cause that aligns with Rosetown’s values to get in touch on an ongoing basis. If you know of anyone seeking support, contact us.

MAKING COMMUNITY EVENTS POSSIBLE.

Each year, Rosetown sponsors a tournament at the Te Awamutu Croquet Club and supports its advertising efforts, encouraging the community to get involved.

"Once again I am writing on behalf of the club executive and members to express our sincere thanks to Rosetown Funeral Home for sponsoring our Golf Croquet Doubles Tournament. We had a full field of players from Hamilton East, Claudelands, Leamington, Matamata, Morrinsville, Pukekohe, Te Kuiti, and Te Aroha as well as our own club members, so it was a great success. As you will know such support is very important to our club and it was a very welcome addition to the success of the day."

Rosetown Lions of Te Awamutu is just one of the many businesses we proudly support.

SUPPORTING LOCAL BUSINESS AND NOT-FOR-PROFITS.

We actively support local businesses and charities where we can and we encourage the local community to reach out to us if there is anything we can do to support them. We love to remain involved in, by attending community events and participating in local initiatives.

COMMUNITY CONTRIBUTION AWARD 2023.

We were honoured to win the Community Contribution Award at the 2023 Waipā Networks Business Awards.

It was an incredible evening and great to be recognised for our community involvement and achievements over the years.

We also took home the Excellence in Small Business Award and were a finalist for the Waste Minimisation – Environmental Award.

GOING ABOVE AND BEYOND FOR LOCAL FAMILIES.

Rosetown also understands that losing a child and needing to take the steps to plan a funeral and burial for a baby is likely one of the most traumatic things any parent will ever have to go through. Therefore, we waive funeral costs for babies, including contributions to caskets, funeral services, cremation or burial costs.  In 2024, this initiative supported about 20 families in Waipā.

Unclaimed deceased individuals

From time to time, deceased individuals may pass away without any family or loved ones to take care of them. If we cannot locate family or next of kin, we must exhaust all avenues prior to seeking permission from government lawyers (Public Trust). We also take care of indigent persons to ensure they are buried or cremated in a respectful way.

Volunteering and governance

Outside of local sponsorship, our staff donate their time to the community through volunteering and governance roles for several organisations. These include:

  • Hato Hone St John

  • Justice of Peace

  • Business Chambers

  • Funeral Directors Association of New Zealand (FDANZ)

  • New Zealand Embalmers Association

  • Blake Emergency Services
