BUDGETING FOR A FUNERAL.
HOW MUCH SHOULD I BUDGET FOR A FUNERAL?
We’ve all heard the adage, and have more than likely even said, “it all adds up”. Unfortunately, yes it can, but if you need to keep the costs down we’re here to help. We all know so well that funeral costs can put some families under financial pressure.If there are budget considerations, please just let us know we will work with you to minimise any financial pressures and discuss payment options with you. Whether you prefer a traditional or contemporary funeral, or one of our set service options, we will ease you through the process of arranging a funeral to suit your budget requirements.
THE TOTAL FUNERAL INVOICE IS MADE UP OF THREE MAIN PARTS:
THE PROFESSIONAL SERVICES FEE.
This is our fee.
Please note our professional services fee is not set in concrete like some other funeral homes. Our professional services fee is totally flexible depending on what you require us to do.
Our fee covers all or part of the following:
A funeral director available at all times
Attending to families
Transfer of deceased
Securing doctor’s certificate or liaising with the coroner for release of the deceased
Securing cremation papers and arranging for the Medical Referee’s release if necessary
Preservation and presentation of the deceased, transfer of deceased to another location i.e. residence/marae if required.
Please note additional transport costs could be incurred for out of region transfersArranging flowers
Newspaper notices
Catering
Liaising with Clergy/Celebrant
Arranging church/venue
Securing an organist, RSA, buglers, pipers if required
Liaising with crematorium/council as necessary
Use of hearse as required
Registering death with Birth, Deaths & Marriages
Uplifting ashes & returning them to family if cremated.
CASKETS, URNS AND OTHER MERCHANDISE.
These are any items you purchase from us such as caskets, urns, scatter tubes and funeral jewellery.
OTHER CHARGES
With your instructions and on your behalf, we will pay for other services such as:
Doctor’s cremation authority
Medical Referee’s cremation authority when required
Crematorium or council interment fees (both burial or ashes) & associated fees if required
Clergy/Minister/Celebrant’s fee
Church/venue hire fee
Organist/bugler/piper fee,
Verger’s fee
Newspaper notices
Service sheets
Flowers – casket spray or sheath & committals
Catering
Memorial book
Printing of photos and frame where necessary
Photo show presentation
Videoing of service
Live streaming of service
Sound technician/technical support and hire of technical equipment if necessary
All of the above will be itemised on the funeral invoice so you can see exactly what each item costs. Please do not hesitate to ask us if you require an estimate of costs.
